andscape void fill provides a lightweight structural method of forming raised landscape profiles and achieving specified finished levels without relying on conventional bulk fill for the full landscape depth. Modular units are arranged horizontally and stacked vertically to form the required void beneath the landscape build-up, with the extent and configuration of the system responding to the required landscape profile.

System selection and configuration are project-specific and must account for the applicable loads, required landscape build-up, drainage and waterproofing requirements, and interfaces with the supporting structure and adjacent construction.

How It Works

Landscape void fill systems use modular structural units to occupy selected volumes beneath the landscape build-up that would otherwise require conventional bulk fill. Units can be arranged horizontally and stacked vertically to form the required void configuration in response to finished levels and landscape geometry.

The system forms part of the overall landscape assembly, supporting the specified build-up above while reducing the volume and associated dead load of conventional fill.

Volume Formation

Structural modules occupy the required volume

Modular units occupy defined volumes within the landscape profile that would otherwise require conventional bulk fill. The extent and depth of the void are configured to suit the specified landscape build-up, finished levels and landscape profile.

Modular Configuration

The system is configured to the required geometry

Modules are arranged horizontally and stacked vertically to accommodate variations in footprint, void depth and landscape profile. The configuration can transition between different void depths, allowing the system to respond to changes in finished levels and project geometry.

Structural Capacity

The configured system supports the landscape assembly above

The modular system provides structural capacity to support the permanent and imposed loads transferred through the landscape assembly. Product selection and system configuration must be appropriate for the applicable loading conditions and project-specific structural requirements.

Applications

Landscape void fill can be integrated within raised and built landscape conditions where portions of the landscape volume would otherwise be formed using conventional bulk fill.

Podium Landscape

Used within landscaped podium assemblies to occupy selected volumes between the structural podium and the required landscape build-up. Modular configurations can accommodate variations in finished levels and landscape profile while reducing the volume and associated dead load of conventional bulk fill supported by the structure.

Roof Gardens

Integrated within roof landscape assemblies to occupy selected volumes between the roof structure and the required landscape build-up. The system reduces the volume of conventional bulk fill and its associated permanent load on the supporting structure.

Planter Boxes

Used within constructed planter boxes to occupy volume below the specified landscape build-up. The required growing-medium depth is maintained above the system while reducing the volume and associated weight of conventional bulk fill below.

Landscape Mounds

Configured to form landscape mounds, raised profiles and changes in finished level without forming the full landscape volume with conventional bulk fill. Module arrangement and stacking can be varied to accommodate the required landscape geometry and elevation changes.

Typical System Build-Ups

Landscape Void Fill is incorporated below the specified landscape build-up. Typical configurations include modular void fill units fully wrapped in geotextile, a washed river sand layer above the system, protection to the supporting concrete surfaces where required, and designated discharge points for drainage.

System Selection

Landscape Void Fill can be configured using different Atlantis modular systems to suit the required void configuration and structural requirements of the project. System selection should be based on the module dimensions, installed depth and structural capacity applicable to the proposed configuration and loading conditions.
